Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba or 2Face, has stirred fresh conversations after saying Nigeria is in a better state today compared to years past.
The singer made the comment during a recent appearance on Wazobia TV, where the host referenced his iconic song E Be Like Say, noting that many of the issues he highlighted in the track still resonate in the country today.
Responding, 2Baba maintained that despite ongoing challenges, there has been progress over time. “We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it,” he said.
His remarks quickly drew attention, especially against the backdrop of current concerns around insecurity, economic hardship, and governance in the country.
When asked about the possibility of venturing into politics, the artist explained that he had previously been involved in advocacy efforts that required him to remain neutral. However, he said he still intends to contribute to national development in his own way.
According to him, he plans to create his own platform to make an impact, stressing that he understands his position and is determined to use it effectively.
2Baba also described himself as an informal ambassador of Nigeria, saying he represents the country wherever he goes.
His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing with his optimistic view, while others questioned his assessment given the nation’s current realities.
