Top political figures, including Kashim Shettima, Olusegun Obasanjo, and Goodluck Jonathan, have arrived in Anambra State for the second-term inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The dignitaries touched down at Chinua Achebe International Airport on Tuesday, according to a video shared by the Anambra State New Media team, confirming their presence ahead of the ceremony.

Their arrival comes as earlier reports indicated that several high-profile personalities would attend the event, including elder statesman Emeka Anyaoku.

The inauguration is taking place at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square, with a large turnout expected. Traditional rulers from all 179 communities in the state, alongside monarchs from other parts of the country, are also in attendance.

Governor Soludo secured a second term after winning the November 8, 2025 governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, which has mobilised supporters across all 326 wards in the state for the event.

Security has been significantly reinforced, with personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Federal Road Safety Corps deployed to maintain order.

The inauguration follows a thanksgiving service held on Sunday at the International Convention Centre, marking the end of the governor’s first term.
