The Financial Secretary of the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), Popoola Quadri A., on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Isokan Local Government, Goke Odetunde, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between student leadership and local authorities.
Popoola, popularly known as POPSON, was accompanied by members of his executive team, local government officials, and community leaders during the visit.
The meeting served as a formal introduction of Popoola in his capacity as NAOSS Financial Secretary representing Isokan Local Government. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the welfare of students, protecting their interests, and ensuring effective representation.
He also referenced his previous role as President of the Federation of Apomu Students, OSCOTECH Chapter, where he said he gained valuable leadership experience.
During discussions, Popoola commended the council chairman for prioritising grassroots development, citing recent initiatives such as the distribution of motorcycles, empowerment programmes targeting 1,500 households, a 40-kilometre road grading project, and the renovation of the Owode Health Centre.
He further appealed for the grading of the Bodude Road linking Ayope, describing it as long neglected. In response, Odetunde assured that the request would be given due consideration.
The council chairman praised Popoola for his leadership and dedication, urging him to sustain open communication with the local government while assuring continued support for student-related matters and community development.
