The administration of Hassan Kamorudeen Okanlawon on Monday successfully hosted the second edition of the Monthly ₦50,000 Empowerment Scheme for residents of Ifelodun Local Government.

The empowerment programme, which took place at the Ifelodun Local Government Secretariat in Ikirun, benefitted about 1,500 people across different communities within the local government area.

The initiative, introduced by the local government chairman, is aimed at supporting residents financially and improving the welfare of people at the grassroots through continuous empowerment programmes.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Okanlawon reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to community development, youth empowerment and policies that would positively impact the lives of residents across Ifelodun Local Government.

Beneficiaries at the programme expressed appreciation to the council chairman for sustaining the initiative, describing the empowerment scheme as timely and impactful amid the current economic challenges in the country.

Many of the participants also pledged their continued support for the administration of All Progressive Congress Gubernatorial Candidates, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Tinubu , popularly known as “AMBO,” while commending the local government for prioritising the welfare of the people.

The event attracted party stakeholders, community leaders, political supporters and residents from different parts of the local government area.
