Concerned youths and students from Ede Federal Constituency have called on leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the Osun West Senatorial ticket to the constituency ahead of future elections.

The appeal was made in a communiqué issued at the end of a peaceful protest held across Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Government Areas.

The group said their gathering was driven by a shared belief that political parties must uphold fairness, reward loyalty and promote unity in their decision-making processes. They stressed that their action was not a protest against party leadership but a constructive appeal for equity and inclusiveness.

According to the communiqué signed by Samuel Egunjobi on behalf of concerned youths and students across the Ede Federal Constituency, zoning the senatorial ticket to the Federal Constituency would reflect justice and balance within Osun West, noting that the Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency has occupied the position for two consecutive terms.

“In a system that values inclusiveness, it is only fair that another constituency, particularly Ede Federal Constituency, is given the opportunity to serve,” the group stated, adding that fairness remains essential for building trust and avoiding discontent within the party.

To support their position, the youths presented data from recent elections, highlighting what they described as federal constituency’s strong electoral contribution despite operating in a highly competitive political environment.

They also pointed to the constituency’s structural strength, noting that E4 has the highest number of polling units and registered voters in Osun West Senatorial District, which they said underscores its grassroots reach and mobilisation capacity.

The group further described the zoning of the ticket to E4 as a strategic move that could strengthen party unity, energise supporters and improve the APC’s chances in upcoming elections, including the 2027 general polls.

While appealing to party leaders at the senatorial, state and national levels to consider equity and balanced representation, the youths also called for unity among stakeholders within E4 to present a common front.

They reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC, pledging continued support for the party’s growth while maintaining a peaceful and respectful approach in their advocacy.
